Marley Lion, 17, of Johns Island died of a gunshot wound
at 5:02 am. Saturday at Medical University Hospital, Charleston County
Deputy Coroner Kimberly Rhoton said today.
She declined to say how many times he had been shot because the case is under investigation.
Lion, a popular athlete at Academic Magnet
High School who graduated this spring, was fatally shot about 4 a.m.
Saturday outside Famous Joe’s Bar and Grill at 1662 Savannah Highway.
The coroner’s office did not release his identity Saturday, but school officials and friends were openly grieving his death.
Principal
Judith A. Peterson used the school’s automated phone messaging system
Sunday to inform parents that grief counselors would be at the North
Charleston school at 10 a.m. Monday.
The coroner’s office confirmed his identify today.
The
Charleston Police Department is still looking for a suspect. He is
described a black male, wearing baggy pants and white shoes. A possible
second suspect is described as a black male wearing jeans and a dark
T-shirt.

ReplyDeleteyou could also accredit him thinking there were two killers on the fact that the killer approached the car, left and then came back. Maybe Marley thought it was two separate people.
